Kabondo Kasipul elder Apollo Bwana has hinted at a possible ceremonial cleansing and inheritance of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s partners in accordance with Luo traditions.

Mr Apollo, in an interview at his Kabondo home, said the inheritance of the Ken Okoth’s wife and his other partner Anne Thumbi is in accordance with Luo traditions and cultural practices.

He called on Ms Monica Okoth and ward representative Thumbi to visit their husband’s home for ceremonial cleansing and possible inheritance as it would appease the spirits of the late MP.

The elder, who was vehemently opposed to the cremation of Okoth’s body on Saturday, said the Luo culture demanded that the elders select a suitable successor to inherit the widows.

He was, however, categorical that the widows were free to choose men of their preference as possible inheritors for continuity of their late husband’s lineage.
