Govt opens applications for presidential digital talent internship programme
By Valerian Khakayi, August 26, 2025The Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Authority has announced 400 vacancies for internship positions for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (Digitalent) Cohort X intake.
In a job advertisement published on My Gov on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the authority stated that the one-year programme in both the public and private sectors is only for recent university graduates and aims to develop and prepare young ICT graduates for employment in various sectors.
“The ICT Authority invites suitable recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) Cohort X Intake,” the job advert read.
“Through this transformative initiative, the Government is looking for young, talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service to undergo a structured 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sectors.”
In addition, the authority stated that the program will also provide participants an excellent opportunity to gain workplace experience, expand knowledge, mentorship, refine career goals and build professional networks.
Positions
Interested candidates are advised to apply in various departments, including Network & Digital Infrastructure 150 positions, Software Development & AI 100 positions, Information Security 50 positions, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing 50 positions, and Data Analytics 50 positions.

Eligibility
According to the advert, applicants must have graduated and attained First or Upper Second-Class Honours (or the equivalent) from a recognised institution in the last two years (from Jan 2023).
If waiting for graduation (till Dec 2025), MUST provide a recommendation/reference letter from the University stamped & signed by the University indicating the class to be awarded (First or Upper Second-Class Honours).
Recent graduates in BSc. ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Systems/Software, Computer) – The graduates must have thorough knowledge in their core areas of specialisation: Network & Digital Infrastructure, Software Development & AI, Information Security, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics. The Applicant may be required to demonstrate technical competencies on their core area of specialisation before the interview.
Must be a Kenyan youth between 21 to 29 years of age and unemployed, and should not have undertaken any other Internship program in the government.
In addition, the authority stated that applicants should be willing and ready to be deployed in any government organisation (MCDAs) within the 47 counties on a full-time basis from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
