Embu man allegedly kill girlfriend in cold blood

Police in Embu county are investigating an incident in which a man is suspected to have killed his lover.

The body of Njeri Ireri was found lifeless in a bush.

According to locals, the mother of one, had been visited by her lover who tricked her to go with him to Embu town for shopping before executing his mission.

Witnesses say the woman, who was in her 30s, was a very well known in Gatituri village in Embu West Sub-county.

Nyakio Nyaga a resident in the area urged police officers to move with speed and do investigation to unearth the perp of the killing.

Those who knew her said the two had parted ways after a disagreement in their marriage.

“The two do not stay together. The man had just visited her and tricked her to go to the market together,” said Nyaga.

Embu West Sub-county police commander Nick Kipkorir said the body of the deceased had bruises and blood was oozing from her nose.

He said police have launched a manhunt for a man suspected to have killed his lover.

The body of the deceased was taken to Embu level 5 hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
