Business mogul Chris Kirubi’s death has been received with utter shock by Kenyans.

Many of who came across his message on Twitter, on Monday morning, were left dumbfounded since it had no iota of looming sad news.

Kirubi tweeted an encouraging message to his followers and Kenyans at large as they began the week.

In his message, nobody thought the businessman was writing his last since it was full of enthusiasm.

The billionaire businessman spoke of determination and urged his followers to embrace positivism as they face the week.

“Top of the morning to you, my dear friend. It doesn’t have to be a tiring Monday. Instead, I bring to you good tidings of favour, success, achievements and happiness in the new week. Give yourself a go towards your success plan. Enjoy today and the rest of your week,” he tweeted.

But as a majority of them thronged to the comment section to react to the tweet, it was not known to them that Kirubi was fighting for his life at his home.

Hours later, after he was announced dead, many went back to the post to mourn him as they prayed for the repose of his soul.

” Oh my!!! This was your last tweet. I was really really hoping you’d get better.. all cured and resume to your energetic self. I shall treasure your positivity, vigour, joy and soul. You truly were an amazing human!” Kiniwakini tweeted.

“Until We Meet Sir……. You’ve always been an encouraging tool to all of us through your quotes. We will miss AskChris things.,” Kptoo Kenya said in his tweet.

Kirubi first announced he had cancer in 2017.

He has since been receiving treatment for the disease until Monday when his family confirmed his death.

” It is with deep sorrow that we regret to inform you of the passing away today of Dr. Christopher J. Kirubi, EBS, prominent businessman, investor and entrepreneur in Kenya and the East Africa region,” Centum Investment Limited announced on behalf of the family.

He has left behind two children namely Mary-Ann Musangi and Robert Kirubi.
