An Australian court has on Thursday spared former KTN presenter Esther Arunga jail-term after freeing her on parole.
The judge handed the former newscaster a 10-month jail-term but opted to free her on parole.
Ms Arunga lied to the police about her husband’s role in the death of their three-year-old son Sinclair at their home in Australia in 2014.
But she confessed to lying to “protect her husband” on Monday and was facing up to 25 years in jail.
Her son died from abdomen trauma, according to court documents, from injuries inflicted on him by Ms Arunga’s husband, Mr Quincy Timberlake.
Mr Timberlake is said to have punched the boy several times in the abdomen, claiming that he was freeing him up from demons.
