Armed thugs who were captured on CCTV robbing a pedestrian in Nairobi last week have been arrested.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) on Monday, June 29, said that they tracked the four suspected gangsters to their hideouts in Kawangware, Gatina and Pangani.

“Four suspects connected with a robbery incident captured on Camera along Lenana Road on 25th June, 2020 have this morning been arrested by DCI Detectives based at Kilimani and several items recovered. The four were tracked down to their hideouts in Kawangware, Gatina and Pangani,” said police on their DCI Twitter account.

However, police are still searching for the weapons that were used by thugs during the daylight robbery.

In the video that was widely circulated on social media, two of the suspects accosted the pedestrian who was walking on the edge of the road.

One of the suspects brandished a pistol with which he hit the pedestrian on the head while his accomplice pulled out a knife pointing at the man’s chest.

Within a matter of seconds, they managed to snatch his bag and another valuable from his jacket and trouser jackets.
