A loaded truck has plunged into the Indian Ocean at the Likoni Crossing Channel just three days after a similar accident involving a tour bus occurred there.

The accident occurred early Wednesday morning at about 4:15 am.

At the time of the accident one person was onboard the truck but he was rescued by Kenya Ferry Services divers.

The loaded truck was heading to Mombasa Island having travelled from South Coast.

Following the accident, a huge traffic snarl-up built up forcing KFS to redirect commuters to the Liwatoni floating bridge with efforts underway to retrieve the truck.
