At least 3 people were shot by suspected Al-Shabaab operatives Monday night, at Kamuthe Resource Centre in Fafi, Garissa County.

Confirming the incident, police say the terrorists also destroyed a Safaricom mast, a Kenya Power transformer and an Administration Police (AP) camp during the 2am attack.

The three victims, all teachers, have been confirmed dead.

Another teacher was abducted during the attack, while a female nurse is said to have been spared.

Tension High
This latest attack comes barely a week after suspected Al-Shabaab militants killed four pupils at Saretho, and also destroyed another communication mast.

Tension remains high in the region following the attacks, and security agencies are said to be on high alert across the country.

All the Regional Commissioners, Police commanders and officials from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) are scheduled to have a meeting in Mombasa with President Uhuru Kenyatta this week.
