VJ Patelo sends candid warning to newfound haters following wedding fame

By , July 31, 2025

Social media personality and Arbantone artist Stanley, widely known as VJ Patelo, has come out swinging against a growing wave of online critics who, he says, have begun showing him unprovoked hatred following the viral success of his recent wedding celebrations.

In a fiery statement shared on his fast-growing TikTok account on Thursday, July 31, 2025, Patelo addressed what he described as misplaced blame and bitterness directed at him and his wife, warning that their continued rise would not stop because of baseless resentment.

He expressed frustration with individuals who, instead of celebrating with them, had chosen to spread negativity and discredit their joy.

“Blame us if you must, but you will keep watching us elevate. You will strain your eyes looking at what we are posting and listening to what is in our DMs, and you will feel bad, but keep blaming us,” he said, making it clear that he had no time for those who felt irritated by their social media posts or private messages.

The popular content creator emphasised that he owed no one an apology or explanation, saying he did not come online to appease anyone.

“We are not here to beg you. Maybe we can only plead with God, not you,” he added, taking a spiritual tone amid the bold rebuttal.

In a parting shot to those planning to respond or argue with him online, he said he cannot tire from countering them, saying they should even ask him to pay for their food so they can get more energy to bash him.

“Anyone who wants to reply, go ahead and reply, and then go to sleep. If you are tired of talking, tell us so we can buy you food to boost your energy for more talking.”

Multi-million wedding

Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna on Monday, July 28, 2025, Patelo touted how wealthy they are, claiming that they had spent Ksh500 million on their lavish wedding.

“Hiyo wedding imecost kitu kama Ksh 500 million,” he said.

When asked what drove the high cost, Patelo explained that it included catering, vehicles, venue, food, guest arrangements, car convoys, décor, photography, invitation materials, banners, rings, attire, and an imported cake.

According to the Arbantone star, they said they had spent Ksh1.5 million on the combined set of the wedding ring.

“The cars, the venue, the food, the guests, the cars that we used, the set-up, decorations, cameramen, initiation cards and the banners,” he explained.

“Hiyo cake haikuwa normal; cake ilikuwa imported from Dubai. Wedding ring: Ksh 500,000 gold ring; ya Diana pia ni gold hizi zote zilicost Ksh 1.5 million.”

Wedding attire

Additionally, the couple disclosed that they had spent Ksh1.6 million on the wedding dress, which they imported from Dubai, Ksh1.7 million on the groom’s suit, and Ksh2.2 million on suits for their ten friends.

“I did not get my dress in Kenya, I imported it from Dubai at Ksh1.6 million,” Diana disclosed.

“My suite cost Ksh1.7 million, while for all of my ten friends, their suite cost Ksh 2.2 million,” Patelo stated.

Patelo also addressed his choice of fashion during the wedding, which drew plenty of attention, particularly the long silver chains he wore.

He explained that the accessories were not a sudden choice but a reflection of his style, as he has always had a deep love for silver chains and rings, even long before the wedding.

He noted that as an artiste, his fashion and flair stem from his identity and his roots in the streets, which he says inspire both his music and public persona.

“The silver chains I wore at the wedding were that long because I love them that way. I have always loved silver chains and rings. That is the inspiration behind my look,” he explained.
