A Kwale man has surrendered to authorities after killing his 25-year-old wife.

Samburu Sub County police Commander Lydia Mambo said that James Njemo Kauli attacked the deceased, Pauline Mbeyu Kaingu, over an unknown motive.

He later on walked to Kanani police post accompanied by his friend and informed police officers of the gruesome murder.

She added that the suspect also attacked their one-year-old minor who is currently fighting for her life at the Coast General Referral Hospital.

“A one-year-old minor is fighting for her life at the Coast General Referral Hospital following the attack. She suffered a deep cut in her head and skull,” she said.

“The deceased was found killed in the sitting room of the house with multiple deep injuries on the upper part of the body. Her skull had been slashed with open wounds”.

According to detectives, the suspect had dismembered the deceased body and chopped off several of her fingers.

“Her right hand little and ring fingers had been chopped and dismembered,” she noted.

The police boss called on couples to resolve marital disputes amicably.

“I call upon residents to avoid anger during arguments and resolve issues in amicable ways, and if a relationship is not working leave and avoid killing or being killed,” she added.

The deceased body has since been moved to the Coast General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
