Ruto: Hollywood has agreed to begin shooting multiple movies in Kenya

President William Ruto has announced a partnership between Kenya and the Grammy Awards.

The Head of State while speaking at Uhuru Gardens during Jamhuri Day celebrations on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, stated that the major film and television studios in the US-Hollywood will begin shooting and producing films in Kenya.

“The famous Grammy Awards have a partnership with us and starting in January, the innovation studios of Hollywood will start shooting multiple movies here in Kenya,” Ruto announced noting the association is in line with his plans to empower innovations and the creative and film industry.

William Ruto’s administration has been working with various companies in the US and recently, the National Basketball Association(NBA) opened its doors in Nairobi.

The government said this will see phenomenal development of basketball in Kenya where teachers, coaches and scouts at the grassroots will be offered basketball training under the Talanta Hela Initiative.

The new office is located in Westlands, Nairobi. The new office became NBA Africa’s fifth office, joining Cairo, Egypt; Dakar, Senegal; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Lagos, Nigeria.
