Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has directed the National Police Service Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai to commence investigations into the death of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) Returning Officer for Embakasi East, Daniel Musyoka, and forward the file for action within seven days.

Haji’s directive comes hours after IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, called on the relevant authorities to investigate and prosecute the killers of Musyoka.

“You are hereby directed to undertake comprehensive investigations into the matter contained in the statement by the IEBC Chairman under Article 157(4) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, and submit the resultant investigation file within seven days of the date hereof,” the ODPP statement read in part.
