Weekend roundup: How Kenyan footballers performed for their foreign clubs

African leagues
In the CAF Champions League, Duke Abuya completed the entire match for Yanga SC, but the Tanzanian outfit suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at the hands of AS FAR Rabat. Elsewhere, Moses Shumah logged 88 minutes as Zambia’s Power Dynamos pulled off a surprise 2-0 victory over RS Berkane.
Over in the CAF Confederation Cup, Baron Ochieng was left out of Zamalek SC’s matchday squad during their shock 1-0 defeat to ZESCO United. Meanwhile, Levis Opiyo played a key role for ZESCO, keeping a clean sheet as the Zambian side stunned the Egyptian heavyweights.
European leagues
In England, Clarke Oduor remained on the sidelines as an unused substitute while Grimsby Town settled for a goalless draw away to Newport County in Sky Bet League Two. On Friday evening, Collins Sichenje did not feature as Charlton Athletic and QPR battled to a 0-0 stalemate at The Valley.
On the other hand, Zech Obiero was handed a starting berth for his Tranmere debut as the club’s dismal run extended with a 2-1 loss to Gillingham on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
In Switzerland, Osborne Odera watched from the bench as FC Zürich fell 2-1 to rivals FC Basel in a Swiss Super League encounter.
