Waithira and Moses Shumah headline Harambee Stars’ top-ranked scorers

By , March 6, 2026

Football Kenya Premier League current leading scorer Joe Waithira and Zambia-based Moses Shumah top the list of Kenyan netbusters, dominating their respective leagues in the 2025/26 campaign.

With 15 goals in the season, Waithira, who has been in a rich vein of goalscoring form at Murang’a Seal, is the leading Kenyan goalscorer in the current campaign.

The mercurial attacker boasts several league doubles, including braces against Ulinzi Stars and Bandari, among his brilliant outings for the Osborne Monday-coached side.

Shuma closing in

On the overseas front, Power Dynamos poacher Shumah tops the list of the most prolific Kenyan strikers beyond the frontiers with a total of nine league goals.

Following his brace on Thursday, March 5, 2026, against Green Buffaloes in the Zambian Super League clash, the former Kakamega Homeboyz man is also ranked as second in the Zambian top-tier league, just a goal shy of Albert Kangwanda’s haul of ten.

Shumah’s feat ranks him tied with Ulinzi Stars’ Paul Okoth, who has also achieved the same haul in the local league.

The Soldiers’ hitman took an early lead in the league standings scoring charts in the first half of the league but has since fallen off pace amid his team’s struggling form in the FKF PL.

Others on list

Stephen Ocholla’s team are currently facing contrasting fortunes, with the threat of relegation looking imminent.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia’s Felix Mboya and APS Bomet’s Philip Wasai come in fourth with seven apiece.

Others in the Kenyan top list of scorers include Qatar-based Michael Olunga, who has found the net six times.

Olunga has, however, endured a tough outing in front of goal and remains goalless in his five league appearances in the new year.

The Harambee Stars captain had made 16 league appearances for Al Arabi during the period before the league postponement a few days ago, following the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The conflict that ensued after the US and Israel announced joint military action against Iran has seen several Kenyan players affected.
