The race for the Football Kenya Premier League Golden Boot and Golden Glove accolades gathered more drama, with goals dominating the Week 21 ties on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

The weekend action saw major developments at both extremes of the table, as AFC Leopards returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Posta Rangers.

With the win, Ingwe kept the pressure on leaders Gor Mahia, who also made light work of KCB to move six points clear.

Joe Waithira was once again the pick of the week, notching a brace as Murang’a Seal ended on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller against Bernard Mwalala’s Bandari FC.

The clash at Sportpesa Arena lived up to its billing early on when Andrew Juma set the stage for the visitors with the opener.

Stunned by the goal, Waithira proved to be the man of the moment for the umpteenth time this season, pulling Osborne Monday’s boys level moments after the break. The mercurial attacker was not done and doubled the advantage to take his tally to 15 goals.

The feat has now placed the midfielder clear of his challengers in the Golden Boot race. His closest challenger, Ulinzi’s Paul Okoth, remained static in second with nine goals.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia’s Felix Mboya and APS Bomet’s Philip Wasai come in at third and fourth, respectively, with seven apiece.

Erick Kapaito, Ebenezer Adukwaw, Sharks’ Humphrey Aroko, and Brian Michira of Shabana are all piled in a crowded group of scorers on six goals.

Clean sheets

On the goalkeepers’ hunt for the Golden Glove, Shabana’s shot-stopper Stephen Ochieng has moved level with Humphrey Katasi of AFC Leopards after the Week 21 ties.

Ochieng added to his clean sheets for the season in the 1-0 win over Tusker on Saturday at Gusii Stadium, moving him to 10 shutouts, the same as the Leopards custodian, who failed to add to his tally after Robert Ponda’s second-half strike.

The Shabana keeper has played two games fewer than his Leopards counterpart.

Meanwhile, Job Ochieng, who was hauled off with an injury midway through the Police FC vs APS Bomet tie at Police Sacco Stadium, is third on the list with nine clean sheets. Allan Negeleka of Bandari, Gor’s Bryne Omondi, and Kevin Ouru have each claimed eight clean sheets.
