Gor Mahia tear KCB apart to keep FKF PL title hopes high

Gor Mahia FC tore apart rivals KCB to extend their fine league run with a 3-0 win over the Bankers in an FKF Premier League encounter at Nyayo National Stadium this Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Ghanaian imports Enoch Morisson, Samuel Kapen and Shariff Musa provided the goals as K’Ogalo took their season haul to 46 points, moving six points at the summit.
Enock Morrison found the opener from a long-range strike to open the floodgates in the 24th minute.
The goal opened the floodgates for the hosts, with the visiting team conceding a second, with Shariff Musa getting in on the scoring act from close range.
The first-half raid against Robert Matano’s boys went from bad to worse when their vaults were breached for the third time just before the breather.
Samuel Kapen, a scorer in Gor’s FKF Cup clash against Dero FC, popped up to send Charles Akonnor’s charges three to the good.
KCB implosion
The former City Stars man went close to a double in the second half after his rasping shot whistled off the crossbar as Gor exerted dominance against their rivals.
K’Ogalo’s huge victory saw them remain unbeaten against the bankers in the last six meetings.
More importantly, it sets them up for the league title push, where they have restored their six-point gap at the helm of the standings.
Close league run-in
The foregoing comes after challengers AFC Leopards and Shabana both recorded victories in their earlier clashes on Saturday to pile pressure on the log leaders.
Leopards moved within three points of leaders Gor Mahia after downing Posta Rangers 2-1 in a league encounter at Nyayo National Stadium as Shabana edged Tusker by a solitary goal in Gusii Stadium.
A scorcher from youngster Kelly Madada and Kayci Odhiambo’s strike in the opening half proved all Fred Ambani needed to return to winning ways after seeing their march for the title slowed by Bandari in their previous league match.
