Kenya’s Moses Shumah continued his impressive debut season in the Zambian top flight after scoring twice to inspire Power Dynamos to a convincing 3-0 victory over Mines United in a Zambian Super League clash played at Arthur Davies Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2026.

The Harambee Stars striker delivered a clinical performance, finding the back of the net twice to underline his growing influence at the club. His goals played a key role in sealing a comfortable win for Dynamos, who dominated proceedings against Mines United.

Shumah’s latest brace takes his tally to an impressive 17 league goals in his first season in Zambia, marking him as one of the standout performers in the competition. The Kenyan forward has quickly adapted to the demands of the league, consistently delivering goals and proving to be a vital asset for his side.

Power Dynamos opened the scoring before through Austin Muwowo in the 15th minute. Shumah extended their lead in the 41st minute. He later in the 71st minute added his second of the afternoon to put the result beyond doubt, capping off a dominant display by the hosts.

The emphatic win strengthens Power Dynamos’ push in the league standings with 58 points at the summit, while further enhancing Shumah’s reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in the Zambian Super League this season as a top scorer.

National duty

Shumah’s great form in Zambia comes as Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has defended the Football Kenya Federation’s plan to bring in players born outside the country as preparations continue for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), and involving players plying their trade abroad.

According to the South African tactician, the initiative to involve diaspora players is not about convincing unwilling footballers but rather engaging those who already have the desire to represent Kenya at the international level.

Recently, McCarthy was part of a delegation from the Football Kenya Federation that travelled to Europe under the leadership of vice president McDonald Mariga. The purpose of the visit was to meet several foreign-based footballers eligible to play for Kenya and discuss the possibility of strengthening the national team ahead of AFCON 2027.
