Shabana’s coach sounds alarm over habit of conceding easy goals
By Luke Oluoch, March 7, 2026Shabana FC coach Peter Okidi has sounded an alarm over his team’s habit of conceding easy goals, a facet he says the team is struggling to kick.
Speaking after a comfortable win over Muhoroni Youth on Saturday, March 7, 2026, Okidi decried a repeat of the backline inconsistencies, particularly in their failure to keep out opponents effectively after his team shipped in a couple of goals against the lower-tier side.
The trainer was left to lament his charges gifting easy goals away—a scenario he also says was on full display.
“I have to say we have to look at the manner in which we are conceding and giving away easy goals, as it was against Leopards. We need to step up and address it very fast before it becomes our undoing,” Okidi stated after his team bounced back from the heavy 5-1 defeat to AFC Leopards in their previous league outing.

He, however, expressed his satisfaction with the result from the clash that saw the club secure passage to the premier knockout competition round of 16.
“Overall, we are happy to get the win and move on to the next rounds,” he concluded.
Goals from Mambote Assis, Keith Imbali, and Wycliffe Orako saw the Glamour Boys claim the huge win against the lower-tier side.
James Mazembe and midfielder Kevin Omuri added the other goals to seal the rout that saw the club join its FKF PL peers in the next phase.
Brewers’ resurgence continues
Tusker FC also extended their strong form under French coach Julien Mette with a solid 2-0 win over FKF Premier League rivals Bidco United on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Defending champions Nairobi United sailed through to the Round of 32 without kicking a ball, awarded a walkover against L-15 FC at Barakistan in Mombasa County.
KCB’s dominant display
Robert Matano’s KCB confirmed progression with a convincing 4-0 win over Zetech College Titans on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Strikes from Stephen Etyang and Erick Kapaito sealed an easy passage for the Ruaraka-based outfit at Police Sacco Grounds.
