Shabana players dominate FKF Premier League Round 22 team of the week

Shabana FC players have dominated the lineup as organisers have unveiled the team of the Week following an exciting round of fixtures that delivered standout individual performances across the pitch in Round 22 of the ongoing Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

A balanced 4-4-2 formation highlights the players who impressed the most, with coach Robert Matano of KCB taking charge after guiding his side to an impressive 1-0 win over title contenders AFC Leopards on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Kasarani Stadium.

Leading the line are defenders Abud Omar of Police FC and George Onyango of Shabana FC, who produced commanding defensive displays against Sofapaka FC and Mathare United, respectively.

Omar earned a 7.8 rating after curling in a beauty to help his side edge the 2009 champions 2-0 at Vapor Grounds on Thursday, February 26, 2026, while Onyango was the star of the week with an impressive 8.3 rating, courtesy of his 90+8 winner against Mathare United in midweek action.

In midfield, Jimmy Owili of Mara Sugar dominated proceedings with a stellar 8.0 rating, after guiding his side to a 2-2 draw against Bidco United. He is supported by Shabana’s Biron Otieno and Kevin Omundi, who both earned 7.2 ratings after delivering disciplined and energetic performances against Mathare.

Siraj Mohammed of KCB adds balance on the flank, registering a solid 7.1 rating against AFC Leopards.

The attacking unit is equally impressive, marshalled by Benson Omalla of Nairobi United and Ally Salum of Kariobangi Sharks, who recorded ratings of 7.3 and 7.6 against Bandari and APS Bomet, respectively. Nairobi United’s Kevin Wangaya and Humphrey Aroko of Kariobangi Sharks complete the team with ratings of 7.0 and 7.1.

Between the posts, Ricks Omondi of Ulinzi Stars delivered a dependable performance to earn a 7.3 rating, producing crucial saves that ensured his team remained competitive against Kakamega Homeboyz at Ulinzi Sports Complex on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The selection reflects the high level of competition in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
