Shabana FC snatch late victory over Mathare Utd in dramatic KPL clash at Nyayo

The tightly contested match appeared headed for a goalless draw before Shabana’s George Onyango struck in the 90+8th minute, breaking Mathare United hearts and handing the Glamour Boys a crucial away win.
Despite dominating large spells of the match statistically, Mathare United failed to convert their chances, allowing Shabana to capitalize late and walk away with maximum points.
Mathare United enjoyed more attempts on goal, registering 12 shots compared to Shabana’s 11. However, efficiency proved to be the difference, with Shabana posting a superior shot accuracy of 36 percent against Mathare’s eight percent.

Discipline slightly favored the visitors, who completed the match without a booking, whereas Mathare United picked up one yellow card.
The late winner ensured Shabana FC left Nairobi with all three points in what was largely a tactical and evenly fought contest, decided by a single moment of clinical finishing at the death.
The result deals a setback to Mathare United’s push for consistency this season, while Shabana FC will draw confidence from their resilience that saw them hit 40 points and further cementing their third spot in the league standings.
