Oduor tips Omala, Wangaya to inspire Nairobi Utd after stealing show against Bidco
By Joel Masibo, February 22, 2026Nairobi United head coach Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor has tipped new signings Benson Omala and Kevin Wangaya to inspire Naibois to more glory in the upcoming fixtures as the club shifts attention to Football Kenya Federation Premier League after a disastrous CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Kizza Mustafa, Benson Omala and Kevin Wangaya were on target as Nairobi United humiliated Bidco United with a 3-0 beating in a league encounter staged at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Omala and Wangaya shine
Speaking on the vital win, Solo, who took over the charges from Nicholas Muyoti earlier, hailed his new signings and their individual performances against Bidco, adding that Wangaya and Omala are poised to help Naibois win more matches as the season enters a decisive phase.
”It speaks for itself, we have been working for it. It’s a new beginning for Nairobi United,” he said.
After making a sensational return to the local league with Nairobi United, former top scorer Benson Omala finally recorded his first league goal for his new club following a couple of matches without pulling the strings.
”They did their job, Kevin Wangaya, Benson Omalla. The latter has been with us, played a couple of matches; he has not been scoring. It was really good for him, and it came at the right moment. I hope that these two will keep inspiring the team to win more matches.” He added.

The victory took Nairobi United to 9th on the log with 28 points in 18 matches, having three matches at hand owing to CAF commitments.
