The Qatar Stars League (QSL), Qatar’s top-tier professional football league, has announced the postponement of its matches as of Sunday. March 1, 2026, amid the ongoing escalating military conflict in the Middle East.

In a statement on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the QSL stated that all tournaments, competitions, and all matches in the country have been put on hold effective immediately.

The directive involves specific Week 17 matches in the top-tier league, where Olunga’s Al Arabi was scheduled to host Al Sailiya on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Postponed

“The Qatar Football Association announces the postponement of all tournaments, competitions, and all matches in the country, effective today and until further notice,” part of the country’s FA statement said.

The league organisers added that the league’s resumption date will be announced later through official channels once the situation stabilises.

Resumption dates

“The new dates for the resumption of the competitions will be announced in due course through the association’s official channels,” the statement concluded.
