Marcus Rashford reveals uncertainty over Barcelona stay

England and Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has explained that he does not know what the future holds as far as his stay at Spanish club Barcelona goes.
The Englishman, on loan at the Catalan club, was among the goal scorers on Sunday, May 10, 2026, as Barca sealed the La Liga title race with a famous 2-0 win over arch rivals Real Madrid.
The English international had a mixed career with Hansi Flick’s team, but he remained unsure of whether he would earn a permanent contract and extend his stay in Spain.
The attacker moved to Spain following a six-month spell at Aston Villa last season.
I don’t know; I am not a magician. If I were, I would say,” he said in an interview after the clash.
Barcelona’s stay
He also reflected on his time at Barcelona, adding that much of his objective of winning a title and enjoying his time had been fulfilled.

“I came here to win as many games and trophies as I can, so this is one more to add to this. This is a wonderful team with nice teammates, and to be a part of this in the future would be special, but we will see,” he added.
Carrick on Rashford’s return
Rashford’s admission comes a day after Michael Carrick addressed the news of the striker’s potential return to his parent club.
Amid reports Barcelona are hesitant to make the deal permanent at that price, when asked if the door should be left open for Rashford to play for United again, Carrick did nothing to shut down that possibility.
“There are decisions to be made in time on certain things. Marcus is in that situation,” Carrick said.
“At this point in time, nothing has been decided. It will be at a certain point because it has to be, but at this stage nothing has been decided.
Rashford has scored 12 goals and assisted another 13 in 43 appearances for the newly crowned league champions.
