He added that such moments help strengthen understanding between people from different backgrounds.

“Moments like this remind me that running is more than movement. It is a universal language that connects people, cultures, and ideas,” Kipchoge said.

Morning run highlights shared vision

Kipchoge also appreciated the French president for taking part in the morning activity. He said the experience showed a shared vision for the future and created space for meaningful conversation. The athlete noted that running continues to be a strong way of bringing people together.

“Asante sana, Mr President, for the conversation, the run, and the shared vision for the future,” Kipchoge said.

The morning run happened as Emmanuel Macron arrived in Kenya for the Africa Forward Summit. The summit is expected to bring together leaders and key stakeholders to discuss investment, diplomacy, and innovation in Africa. The event will also focus on Africa’s growing role in the global economy.

The summit will take place on May 11 and 12, 2026. The gathering is being held in partnership with France and is expected to attract heads of state and business leaders. The discussions are aimed at strengthening cooperation and building stronger international partnerships for Africa’s future development.
