Kenya’s Sichenje available for Charlton in Sheffield Wednesday’s clash
By Joel Masibo, April 18, 2026Harambee Stars centre-back Collins Sichenje will be available for selection as his side Charlton Athletic visit Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Championship on Saturday, April 18, 2026, after spending weeks outside action nursing a hamstring injury.
Charlton Athletic are set to make the trip to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, marking their second-to-last away fixture of the 2025/26 season, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 pm BST.
Nathan Jones’ men head into the encounter in strong form on the road, having avoided defeat in their previous six away matches. Their latest outing saw them settle for a 1-1 draw against Watford.

Team updates
Ahead of the clash, Jones has confirmed in his pre-match briefing that Thomas Kaminski (shoulder), Collins Sichenje (hamstring), and Conor Coady (concussion) have all recovered and are available for selection.
However, Harry Clarke missed the previous game against Preston North End due to a knee problem, while Josh Edwards has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign with an ankle injury.
“Collins and Burkey are both available, so that’s good for our competition,” he noted. “Again, Thomas has trained fully, so we’re able to call on him as well.” Jones said on Friday, April 17, 2026.
For Sheffield Wednesday, goalkeeper Murphy Cooper recently returned to action, playing an hour for the club’s U21 side after recovering from a muscle issue. Nonetheless, several players remain sidelined, including Di’Shon Bernard (knee), Liam Cooper (groin), Ernie Weaver (foot), Gui Siqueira (Achilles), and George Brown (hamstring).

Opposition overview
Sheffield Wednesday, already relegated, find themselves at the bottom of the Championship standings after being handed an 18-point deduction due to financial irregularities. Despite their struggles, Henrik Pedersen’s side showed resilience last weekend, earning a draw against title-chasing Coventry City.
