How AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia and Shabana contributed to Harambee Stars squad for FIFA Series
By Joel Masibo, March 24, 2026The final 23-man Harambee Stars squad for the upcoming FIFA Series in Kigali, Rwanda, arrived in Rwanda on Tuesday, March 27, 2026, following several changes.
The adjustments come after several players were ruled out due to injuries and unavailability, prompting the technical bench to settle on a revised travelling squad.
In the selection, record Kenyan Premier League champions, Gor Mahia, the top player’s contribution to the national team. Leading community clubs in the country, AFC Leopards and Shabana, have no single player called for national duties, despite the two sides having a fair run in the ongoing FKF Premier League.
For Gor Mahia, the regional powerhouse will be well represented on the international stage after four of its players made the trip to Kigali, Rwanda, with the Kenya national football team for the inaugural tournament.

The quartet of Ben Stanley, Frank Odhiambo, Michael Kibwage, and Alpha Onyango have all linked up with the national team as they prepare to face Estonia, hosts Rwanda and Grenada in the multi-nation tournament.
The call-ups are a reflection of the players’ strong performances at club level, with Gor Mahia continuing to provide a solid core to the national setup. Also initially named in the Harambee Stars squad were goalkeeper Brynne Omondi and defender Sylvester Owino, who both pulled out due to injuries.
