Hansel Ochieng earns Pamzo’s praise after repeated heroics against Gor Mahia

APS Bomet attacker Hansel Ochieng has attracted the praises of his coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo after his scoring cameo in the FKF Premier League fixture against leaders Gor Mahia on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
The lethal goal poacher made a triumphant return from injury with a goal in his team’s 2-1 defeat to the log leaders.
His performance following his introduction to the fray elicited praises from his coach, who described him as a key cog to the team’s plans.
“I am happy for Hansel, who is coming back from injury. This was his first game. I think the forty-five minutes were enough for him. He is very instrumental in our team, and we are looking forward to him playing in the next games,” he added.
The former AFC Leopards striker was in rich form of the goal-scoring vein, bagging a brace in the return fixture pitting the two in November 2025.

Ochieng turned the game on its head with two quick goals in the 39th and 42nd minutes, sending his side into the break with a 2-1 lead. After the interval, APS Bomet maintained their dominance and extended their lead further with two late strikes in the 77th and 87th minutes, sealing an impressive and comprehensive victory over the record champions.
Ochieng on facing Gor
During the meeting, the attacker was denied a hat trick after his third goal was taken down as an own goal after coming off a Gor Mahia player before going in.
Speaking on his past scoring run against K’Ogalo, Hansel basked in his impressive record against Gor, describing the fixture as his favourite opponent.
“It’s a good thing when you score and better when it enables the team to get maximum points. The team comes first,” he stated while expressing his elation.
“It is a good feeling we have put a statement out there that we are a bad team. We hope this win can enable us to move forward and put the lesson we have learned into use and push the team,” he added.
Despite the setback, Pamzo exuded optimism that the Premier League newcomers will not be relegated from the top-flight league.
