FKF PL Preview: Posta Rangers to test AFC Leopards’ resolve to stay in title chase

Second-placed AFC Leopards continue their quest for the FKF PL league chase against visiting Posta Rangers as the league matches continue this Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The clash at Nyayo National Stadium comes as Fred Ambani’s lads seek to return to winning ways after seeing their quest slowed by Bandari in a barren draw during their previous league outing in Mombasa.
Following weeks of a consistent run of wins, the battling draw left Ingwe’s quest to keep chase of runaway leaders Gor Mahia suffering a slight setback, with the latter opening a six-point buffer at the top of the standings with a game in hand.
Ingwe seeking amends
Heading to the clash, Ambani’s charges aim to capitalise on their sheer dominance, as seen in the case against Bandari.
With the chasing pack of Shabana and Kakamega Homeboyz also closing in on them, the enormity of the task ahead of the Rangers’ duel remains huge.

Their surprise elimination from the Mozzart Cup also means that the club can now shift its full attention to league engagement, where they are in the hunt for their first league title since 1998.
12th-placed Rangers, on their part, are desperate to kick-start their form in the year after a dismal run of four winless games.
Posta’s winless run
Collins Ouma’s coached team has failed to win a single match in the year, losing to Shabana (2-0) and at home to KCB (1-0).
Their last league triumph dates back to a couple of months back when they edged Nairobi United 2-0 on December 8, 2025. With formidable opposition in the shape of Gor Mahia and Kenya Police coming thick and fast in their next fixtures, the time seems to be running fast for the side placed just above the relegation zone.
Speaking after the defeat to Shabana, Omondi admitted to the worrying trend of a winless run that extended to eight games, attributing it to fatigue.
“We created chances, and we had a good game. It is sad to lose our eighth game, but we are creating chances, though not converting them. We have work to do, and we hope to rectify these results and make them better and get back our winning run,” he stated.
The clash will kick off at 4:00 pm
