FKF Cup: Shabana redeem themselves against Muhoroni to storm round of 16

By , March 7, 2026

Shabana FC produced a ruthless display to dismantle Muhoroni Youth FC 5-2 in a one-sided FKF Cup Round of 32 clash at Muhoroni Youth Stadium on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Coming off a heavy 5-1 defeat to AFC Leopards in the FKF Premier League, Peter Okidi’s side delivered a clinical performance to brush aside the lower-tier opponents in emphatic fashion.

Congolese forward Mambote Assis and Kevin Omuri set the tone early, establishing a two-goal cushion for the visitors heading into the break as Shabana dominated proceedings.

The second half saw the floodgates open further, with Keith Imbali, James Mazembe Ogachi, and captain Wycliffe Orako adding to the tally to seal the comprehensive rout.

The victory propels Shabana into the Round of 16, joining other advancing sides including Tusker FC, defending champions Nairobi United, Police FC and KCB FC.

Brewers’ resurgence continues

Tusker FC extended their strong form under French coach Julien Mette with a solid 2-0 win over FKF Premier League rivals Bidco United on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Defending champions Nairobi United sailed through to the Round of 32 without kicking a ball, awarded a walkover against L-15 FC at Barakistan in Mombasa County.

KCB’s dominant display

Robert Matano’s KCB confirmed progression with a convincing 4-0 win over Zetech College Titans on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Strikes from Stephen Etyang and Erick Kapaito sealed an easy passage for the Ruaraka-based outfit at Police Sacco Grounds.

The competition continues with more Round of 32 fixtures lined up through Saturday and Sunday, March 8, 2026, as teams battle for places in the knockout stages.

Meanwhile, FKF has confirmed a couple of fixture kick-off time changes, with Gor Mahia vs BB Bread among those affected.

The Gor-BB bread tie, initially scheduled to kick off at 3:30 pm, has been pushed back by half an hour and will now kick off at 3:00 pm.

The match venue at the Nyayo National Stadium, however, remains unchanged.

Moreover, the KSG Opopa date with Kuta Collections will also kick off at 3:30 pm.

The clash will be staged at the Kasarani Annex.

The non-league Kuta Collection eliminated Division One side Al Azizia Football Club in a dramatic penalty shootout in the round of 32 tie played at Kinoru Stadium in February 2026.
