FKF Cup: BB Bread finally devoured after slaying AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia
By Luke Oluoch, April 10, 2026BB Bread FC’s fairytale run in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup has come to an end following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Kenya Police FC at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Friday, April 10, 2026.
The Nairobi Regional League (NRL) outfit exited at the Round of 16, having stunned and eliminated Premier League giants AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia in the preliminary and round of 32 stages, respectively.
The feat had Ajastine Onkoba’s lads emerge as a potential dark horse for the 2026 honours before seeing their march curtailed by the law enforcers.
Police, Brewers progress
Kenya Police FC now advances to the tournament’s quarter-finals, where they join Tusker FC in the next stage.
Julein Mette’s side became the first side to secure a place in the FKF Cup quarter-finals after a narrow 1–0 win over Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Stadium.
Ian Simiyu netted the decisive goal as Kariobangi Sharks bow out of the competition.
In other fixtures set for Saturday, April 11, 2026, FKF Premier League side Shabana FC will play Kuta Collection at Wang’uru Stadium.

The 3:00 pm clash will pit the only remaining non-league team in the premier knockout competition against the Tore Bobe seeking to join their league peers in the final eight.
‘Kakamega Homeboyz will also grapple with an all-FKFPL encounter against Ulinzi Stars as Murang’a Seal also hits the road to face off against Mfalme FC in Eldoret.
No underrating any team
Shabana’s organising secretary, Stephen Kiama, indicated the club will direct the seriousness it deserves as they ramp up the push for a maiden league title since returning to the top-tier league in 2023.
“We have been drawn against Kuta Collection at their home, and we are ready for it,” Kiama stated. “There are no easy fixtures; every team has earned its place, and you cannot underrate any opponent. You saw recently how even top teams can struggle when they underestimate their rivals. There are no ‘small’ teams in Kenya anymore,” he said in an interview on Monday, March 23, 2026.
