Winless in 10: Stark record Fulham seek to overturn against Manchester United

United have won only one and lost twice in their opening four games, sitting 13th on the log, while Fulham sits at the bottom of the table with only a single point from their matches.
The 6:30 pm kick-off, however, presents a monumental task for the hosts, who are looking at a poor run if they are to secure their first league win and kick-start their campaign.
Manchester United has dominated the recent head-to-head fixtures, claiming seven wins in their last ten meetings. While there have been two draws between the sides, the Cottagers have failed to win any of their last ten home games against the Red Devils at Craven Cottage.
Recent meetings
Fulham’s last victory against Manchester United came on February 24, 2024, and it happened to be at Old Trafford. Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi scored to secure a 2-1 win.
United had looked confident of extending their run, especially with Fulham missing the suspended João Palhinha.
Before that 2024 shocker, the Londoners’ last Premier League win away against United had come under Chris Coleman 21 years prior.
Meanwhile, their 2023 meetings both ended in wins for Manchester United. Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes scored in a crucial 2-1 victory at Old Trafford in May 2023, and the return leg also favoured the English giants when Fernandes dispatched a stoppage-time winner in November 2023 to sink Marco Silva’s team.
Despite the daunting history, a beleaguered Fulham can afford to dream, with United’s inconsistencies evident early in the season.
Hull famously stunned the Red Devils 2-0 to claim a long-awaited top-flight victory, and United have since struggled to assert dominance, suffering further defeats to Manchester City and in the Carabao Cup.
Their defensive problems were especially evident away from home: United conceded twice against Hull City, before drawing 2-2 with Everton, leaving them without a league victory from either of their first two away assignments.
Fulham will relish the opportunity to finally grab their first win of the season by capitalising on Manchester United’s vulnerabilities.
The Cottagers head into the clash, having held Liverpool to a goalless draw in their last encounter.
