Arsenal is back! Netizens unearth video of Ruto’s warning as Gunners suffer second cup shocker

Online football fans have resurfaced clips of President William Ruto sending a stern warning to Arsenal’s rivals after the team’s elimination from the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Gunners suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to Championship side Southampton, crashing out of a second domestic cup in just a fortnight.

The EPL leaders had pulled out several international players to prepare for upcoming assignments, a move that’s been heavily criticised. This move was hugely criticised, which has since added to the online trolls.

As part of the ongoing roast, netizens brought back a viral video of Ruto’s warning delivered during the World Cup trophy tour at State House in 2025.

In the video from October 2025, Ruto, while affirming his deep Arsenal roots, confidently stated that the stars were aligning for a return to glory days for the North London club.

Arsenal is back

“As many of you know, I am a proud Arsenal fan. It is true the last two decades have not been easy for us, with heartbreaks and near misses, but if you have been watching us lately, you know it’s all coming alive. So to all our English Premier League and European rivals, watch out: Arsenal is back,” Ruto said during his address.

With Arsenal having seen their dream of a quadruple (lifting four trophies) reduced to two after Saturday, April 4, 2026, the remarks seem to be aging badly. Trolls targeting Mikel Arteta regarding another potentially trophyless season have intensified following the recent upsets.

From quadruple to two remaining

The UEFA Champions League, where they have reached the last four, is among the titles they are still chasing, as well as the Premier League, where they currently hold a crucial seven-point cushion over rivals Manchester City.

The decisive run is now at stake for Arsenal, who will be keen to banish a history of “bottling” the league and win their first major silverware since lifting the FA Cup in 2020.
