AFC Leopards extends membership renewal deadline amid member requests

Football Kenya Federation Premier League giants AFC Leopards have announced an extension of their 2026 membership renewal deadline, offering supporters additional time to secure their status within the club.
In an official communication dated Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the club revealed that the decision was made following appeals from members, particularly those whose income schedules fall within the first week of the month.
Deadline extension
”Upon members’ request, particularly from those who receive Income in the first week of the month, the membership renewal deadline has been extended by 10 working days,” the statement said in as signed by club Secretary General Isaac Mulindi.
The extension, which adds 10 working days to the original deadline, is expected to ease financial pressure on fans and encourage wider participation in the renewal process.

Membership contributions often play a key role in financing club activities, including player welfare, logistics, and development programs. At the same time, the club clarified that recruitment of new members will remain open throughout the year.
”Please note that new members recruitment will continue throughout the year,” the statement added.
This ongoing initiative aims to broaden the fan base and strengthen the institutional framework of one of Kenya’s most historic football teams.
As of December 31, 2025, AFC Leopards membership stood at 7,794 members. For the bronze tier membership, the new membership is Ksh1,500, while renewal is Ksh1,000.
Stadium entry
Meanwhile, AFC Leopards’ National Executive Committee (NEC) has issued a stern warning to a section of fans following Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks, stating that forceful entries to the stadium during matchday will no longer be tolerated.
In a statement on Monday, March 30, 2026, Leopards, while portraying gratitude to the fans for coming out in numbers, warned against the tendency of a few individuals attempting to storm the gates without valid tickets.

“A total of 4183 tickets were sold in our match against Kariobangi Sharks at Nyayo Stadium yesterday. We take this opportunity to thank all of us for purchasing the tickets,” part of the statement read.
“We are also requesting the few fans who want to make forceful entry to the stadium without paying to desist from that behaviour.”
In a move aimed at ensuring fans’ safety, the committee directed the culpable to refrain from the act.
