AFC Leopards announce date for club’s annual general meeting

AFC Leopards has notified its members of the club’s next annual general meeting, set to be held at the Nyayo Stadium Basketball Gymnasium on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

In a statement on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, signed by club secretary general Isaac Mulindi, the club officially invoked Article 10.2 of its constitution, locking in the date and location for the highly anticipated 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Meeting Agenda

The club has laid out a stacked list of ordinary business, set to impact its future financial and legal directions.

Among the major items listed are

  1. Convening the meeting and officially confirming enough members are present to make votes legal.
  2. Reviewing and confirming the minutes from the intense 2025 AGM.
  3. State of the Club: Receiving the highly anticipated chairman’s report on the club’s progress and future.
  4. Reviewing, considering, and adopting the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 alongside the Auditor’s report. (Note: The full financial report is landing directly in members’ email inboxes!)
  5. Future Audits: Appointing the independent auditors to oversee the club’s books for the remaining 2026 financial year.
  6. Adopting a New Constitution: Reviewing and voting to adopt the brand-new draft constitution, a massive moment for governance and member rights.
  7. AOB: Any Other Business to wrap up the floor.

Ingwe has also implored members who are eligible to cast votes in the club to keep track of their email for those financial reports for a heads-up before the actual meeting date.

This comes after Ingwe finished as league runners-up in the concluded Football Kenya Premier League campaign. Ingwe finished second to eventual champions Gor Mahia, who officially became the new champions on May 24, 2026, after the former’s defeat to APS Bomet.

Ambani demands better officiating

The defeat, which effectively ended Leopards’ push for a maiden league title since 1998, saw coach Fred Ambani challenge the Football Kenya Federation to wade in and improve the standards of officiating in the league.

In a scathing post-match interview, the gaffer decried how referees were ruining the game with unjustified and biased decisions.

“I want to go on record saying that we are headed for doom if we cannot rectify and address the issues of officiating. We cannot have such league deciders being handed to such referees. First of all, where is his origin? It is nonsense; you cannot give him a game of this magnitude,” he lamented.

The sentiments prompted a swift response from the coach’s body, who hit back, accusing the coach of making divisive remarks.
