In the photos shared by Kisumu County Woman Representative Ruth Odinga on Facebook on Sunday, February 1, 2026, Winnie can be seen sitting very close to Oburu during what appeared to be a calm family gathering, with the two sharing warm and relaxed moments.

Sharing the images on her social media pages, Ruth made it clear that the meeting was purely family and full of peace.

“I spent a peaceful Sunday with family, hosted by my brother, Dr Oburu Odinga. Grateful for his love, guidance, and the steady hand that has always kept us united,” she said.

The photos quickly attracted attention online, with many Kenyans noting the closeness between Winnie and Oburu at a time when the ODM party has been facing internal disagreements and public debate.

The development comes just days after Winnie Odinga spoke openly about what she termed as intimidation of dissenting voices within ODM.

Speaking during an interview, the East African Legislative Assembly MP claimed that some party members had been targeted for holding opposing views on the proposed broad-based government arrangement.

What did Winnie Odinga say about the ODM Party row?

“We have reached a situation where you are being told to fill out forms indicating whether you support the regime of the day.

“If you do, you are rewarded with Teachers Service Commission slots; if you don’t, God knows what happens to you,” she said.

Addressing claims of a rift within the Odinga family, especially with Oburu, Winnie dismissed the talk and insisted that the family remains united.

“If there was a family feud, I doubt he would be telling me that in public.

“Issues at home are discussed at home, but party matters are not discussed in the family setting,” she said.

“I love Dr Oburu. He is my only dad. Our family is tight; we have no problems at all,” she said.

Winnie also praised Oburu’s leadership at ODM, saying he has been steady during the transition period, a message that now appears to be strongly reinforced by the viral family photos.
