Wamuchomba sarcastically proposes that men take up Woman Rep seats in all 47 counties
By David Nthua, December 10, 2025Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has proposed that men should take up the positions held by women representatives across the 47 counties.
Taking to her X account on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Wamuchomba revisited the unresolved Kware dumpsite killings, where 42 women were murdered and their bodies dumped in Embakasi in July 2023.
She expressed frustration that her push for answers in Parliament led to her suspension, yet no clear outcome has been communicated to date.
In her message, the MP has questioned who was responsible for the killings and why accountability has remained elusive.
“It has been a desperate ask, who killed 42 women and dumped their bodies in Kware Dumpsite in Embakasi in July 2023.

“I asked this question in Parliament and was eventually kicked out of chambers for 20 days without pay by the SPEAKER for refusing to accept the flimsy answer given.
“There are 47 women MPs representing women in parliament, and none has joined me in the quest may be it’s not fashionable to ask.
“In 2027, could we try male MPs to represent women and see if there will be a better turnaround on such matters? Just a proposal,” Wamuchomba posted.
She noted that despite the presence of 47 women MPs in Parliament, none had joined her in pursuing the matter.

Wamuchomba sarcastically suggested that in the 2027 General Election, male MPs could be elected to represent women, arguing that the change might deliver better results on issues affecting women’s safety and justice.
Day Wamuchomba got suspended from the National Assembly
Her remarks have come months after she was suspended from Parliament for 20 days following a heated exchange with Speaker Moses Wetang’ula during a session in which she challenged Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen over the stalled investigations into the Kware killings.

“As for the case of Honourable Wamuchomba, in law we call it contempt in the face of the court. And members, you all are witnesses to this.
“Under standing orders 107A as read with 1A and 3 and having been prompted by Deputy Majority leader, Honourable Wamuchomba, shall serve a suspension of the house for 20 days excluding the recess days,” Wetang’ula announced.
At the time, Wamuchomba refused to accept what she termed unsatisfactory responses, prompting disciplinary action by the Speaker.
The renewed comments have reignited debate around accountability, gender representation and unresolved cases of violence against women, with her proposal drawing mixed reactions online and within political circles.
