Tree hugger in Nandi on the hunt for a husband

By , January 22, 2026

Residents of Kapsabet town in Nandi County were treated to an unusual but peaceful sight after two women were spotted hugging a tree at Nandi Gardens while openly expressing their personal concerns.

According to a Facebook user in the area, Kirui Rop, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, one of them said she was seeking help to raise her child’s school fees, expressing hope that her situation would change for the better.

The other woman explained that she was praying for a serious, responsible husband, saying she desired a stable partner with whom to build a future.

This incident comes a few days after Mercy Chepkemei and a man from Kimwani in Tindiret were also seen at the same location. On that occasion, Mercy was advocating against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), while the man was calling for support for musicians and MCs in Nandi County.
