Police nab 2 men linked to drug trafficking in Nyeri
By Cynthia Lodite, December 8, 2025Police officers from Nyeri Police Station have apprehended two men linked to drug trafficking in Nyeri County’s crackdown on drugs.
In a post on the National Police Service official X account on Monday, December 8, 2025, the police revealed that the two were linked to trafficking heroin and bhang in the Mathari area in Nyeri.

The officers from Nyeri Police Station, acting on credible intelligence, conducted a raid in the Transformer area of Mathari, where the two persons of interest were busted.
“Police in Nyeri have intensified operations aimed at curbing drug trafficking and safeguarding the community from the harmful effects of narcotics. Acting on credible intelligence, officers from Nyeri Police Station conducted a well-coordinated raid in the Transformer area of Mathari,” NPS said.
Police further announced that after the arrest, the officers recovered at least forty sachets of heroin and one hundred grams of bhang.
On the other hand, the officers confirmed that after the arrest, all exhibits were secured as exhibits, which will later be presented to the court as exhibits.
“Two suspects were arrested at a residential property, where officers seized 40 sachets of heroin, approximately 100 grams of cannabis (bhang), and a packet of rolling papers. All items were secured as exhibits to be presented in court,” NPS confirmed.

Meanwhile, officers have confirmed that the two were moved to custody pending arraignment, as investigations continue to dismantle the drug supply chain and identify further accomplices within the illicit network.

In addition, the National Police Service has affirmed its commitment to protecting communities from the dangers of narcotics while urging members of the public to support the ongoing enforcement efforts by reporting drug-related activities.
