Mosiria rescues homeless man who travelled to Nairobi to research on Ruto

The Citizen Engagement and Customer Care Department head in Nairobi County, Geoffrey Mosiria, is seeking the public’s help to reunite a homeless man he rescued in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) with his family in Western Kenya.

In a heartfelt post shared on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Mosiria explained that he met the man, who normally sleeps near the Kenya Power offices, and noticed that he appears to be experiencing mental health challenges that require urgent medical attention.

“Tonight, I met a man in the CBD who normally sleeps next to the Kenya Power offices. He was on the street and appears to be experiencing mental health challenges that require urgent medical attention,” Mosiria wrote.

“If anyone recognises him or knows his family, especially from Western Kenya, kindly reach out so that we may help reunite him with his loved ones.”

He further revealed plans to have him admitted to the mental hospital.

“I will be taking him to Mathari Mental Hospital to help him access proper treatment and care.”

Mosiria’s goal is to ensure the homeless man receives the care he needs while also reuniting him with his loved ones.

Reason for coming to Nairobi

Upon interrogation, the man shared the reason behind his journey from Western Kenya to the capital. According to him, curiosity and research about President William Ruto drew him to Nairobi.

He added that his research focused on the president’s statements about uniting East Africa and Africa as a whole. At the time, he was also working as a trailer driver, which gave him the time and opportunity to dig deeper into the topic.

The man has been staying in the streets of Nairobi for the past five months.
