Mosiria appeals for help to reunite rescued street children with their families

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has appealed to the public for help in tracing the families of several street children he recently rescued.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, February 14, 2026, Mosiria said the children had been living on the streets and were in urgent need of help. He revealed that earlier in the week, in the middle of the night, he found the young children and moved them to a safe home.

“Tonight, I want to remind you that God can use any one of us to change someone’s life to become the reason someone gets a second chance. This is especially true for those whom society has forgotten because of their current situation: the sick, the homeless, and our brothers and sisters living in the streets,” Mosiria said.

According to him, the children are now secure, protected and receiving proper care. He described the situation as heartbreaking, noting that it was painful to see young children suffering while roaming the streets in search of help.

“Earlier this week, in the middle of the night, I rescued these young children from the streets and took them to a safe home. I am grateful to report that they are now safe, protected, and receiving care.”

Mosiria said the rescue was a reminder that anyone can make a difference in someone’s life. He called on members of the public to step forward if they recognise the children or have any information that could help reunite them with their parents or relatives.

He urged Kenyans to continue showing compassion to vulnerable people in society, including the sick, the homeless and those living on the streets. He noted that small acts of kindness can restore hope, dignity and give someone a second chance at life.

“As we celebrate this small victory of humanity, I am now appealing to the public: I am looking for their parents or relatives. If you recognise them or have any information that can help reunite them with their family, please reach out to me. Let us continue to be each other’s keepers. Sometimes, a simple act of compassion can restore hope, dignity, and a future to someone who had none,” Mosiria added.
