Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has vowed not to disappoint Kenyans who showered him with love in an overwhelming show of support after his political rally in Kitengela on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Sifuna, who teamed up with Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and Governor James Orengo to pull a show-stopping rally that sent jitters across the political landscape, said he felt the love and reaffirmed his commitment never to disappoint those who believe in his political journey in a statement on his Facebook account on Monday, February 16, 2026.

He also appreciated Kenyans who showed him some love after he made his way to Nyayo National Stadium.

His entry, alongside Babu Owino, caused a stir at the stadium with the crowd cheering wildly and chanting his name.

The Senator said that he lacked the words to show his appreciation and spoke blessings upon Kenyans in a statement posted on his Facebook account on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Wale mlikua Nyayo 7s I have no words bana ni kusema tu ahsante. I felt the love na mjue sitawaangusha. God bless,” Sifuna stated.

This loosely translates to: “All who were at Nyayo 7s, I lack words to say, but I am thankful. I felt the love and assure you that I won’t let you down. God bless”.

Kitengela comes to a standstill as Oburu camps in Tononoka

The rally in Kitengela saw the ODM faction opposed to the party backing President Ruto’s reelection bid flex its muscles in a spectacular display of political might.

A sea of humanity turned out for the rally, with Gen Zs warming up to the ODM Secretary General.

The event had the usual flair and colour that party events were known to have during the lifetime of its departed founder, Raila Odinga.

A rival political meeting at Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa, which was headlined by party leader Oburu Odinga, on the other hand, lacked colour, with the rally failing to attract the huge crowds that the party was known to attract in the region.

Gen Z warm up to Edwin Sifuna

Suba South MP Caroli Omondi expressed confidence that the political movement is capable of marshalling more than sixteen million votes, including those of Gen Zs to deny Ruto a second term.

“We have done our analysis, and I think we can bring a coalition of 16 million votes, including Gen Zs, and we are happy. Actually, Kitengela was a Gen Z rally. They organised it themselves; they planned it. We were just mere guests,” Omondi saidin an interview on Monday, February 16, 2026.

The next Linda Mwananchi rally is set to be held in Kakamega on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
