Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo has been thrown into mourning following the death of her niece.

The lawmaker revealed that her lovely niece, Noreen Adhiambo Omondi, died on Sunday, 8 March 2026, as the world marked International Women’s Day.

Millie mourned the deceased in an emotional statement shared across her social media on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Without delving into the details, the legislator expressed appreciation for the deceased’s life.

“A beautiful flower was plucked from our family garden yesterday evening on International Women’s Day. My lovely niece Noreen Adhiambo Omondi rests. We give God the glory for her life,” she wrote.

Death of OCS

Her death comes a few days after the MP mourned the death of OCS Morris Kyalo, who died in a road accident.

“We lost the OCS Mbita, Morris Miani Kyalo, to a road accident in the Lambwe area, Suba North, yesterday evening. On my behalf and on behalf of the people of Suba North, we convey our condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. May the Lord wipe away your tears,” Millie stated.

She attended the burial service of the late OCS in Makueni with a team from her constituency.

“The good deeds of the OCS followed him in death, and he got a great and orderly send-off. There is a need for benchmarking in Makueni in relation to funerals. There is near military precision in the way things are done, and politics is subservient to the needs of the grieving family. The Governor of Makueni has pledged support to the widow. May the soul of Morris rest in everlasting peace,” she stated.

Johana Ng’eno’s death

The MP has also been mourning following the death of Emurua Dikirr lawmaker Johana Ng’eno, who perished in a tragic chopper crash.

Ng’eno was buried on Friday, March 6, 2026, in a sombre event graced by President William Ruto.

He died alongside five others, including the pilot of the ill-fated helicopter, with an autopsy conducted on the bodies of the deceased indicating that they died as a result of multiple injuries and burns sustained during the tragic crash.

“Upon looking at the bodies, they had varying levels of injuries, which varied from head injuries, chest injuries and spinal injuries. There were also varying levels of burns; some were burnt more than others, but they were identifiable. They died because of multiple injuries and burns, and these were caused by the helicopter crash,” Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor said.
