List of areas to experience blackout on Monday, March 2

Kenya Power has announced that residents in selected areas across Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nairobi, and Vihiga counties will experience scheduled power interruptions on Monday, March 2, 2026.

In a statement, the company advised affected customers that the outages will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and urged them to take necessary precautions to minimise disruption to daily activities.

Nyeri and Kirinyaga counties

In Nyeri, the blackout will affect Sasini, Tree Tops, Waihenya Estate, C/Fact, St. Mary’s Hospital, Mweiga Estate Pump, Ex Pages, Kahuruko Village, Kihuyo, Nyarugumu, Kamwenja TTC, Nyeri High, Mathari Hospital, Mathari Centre, ATC Booster 1 & 2, Kagongo, Out Span, Chania, Nyeri Hill, Mary Immaculate Hospital, and adjacent customers.

Residents in Mucagara Town and Thumaita will also experience power cuts. Affected areas include Mucagara Market, Kambogo, Gacam C/Fact, Kamugunda Market, parts of Kamweti Junction, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Nairobi county

In Nairobi, parts of Jakaya Kikwete and Milimani will be affected. The scheduled outages will impact Valley Road, EACC offices, Nairobi Region Police Quarters, Central SDA, Ambassador Court, The Heron Hotel, Ralph Bunch Road, Statehouse Avenue, Middle East Bank, Comfort Hotel, Saggy Suits, Sagret Hotel, Telecom Plaza, Swiss Mount Hotel, CITAM Valley Road, Pitman House, DOD offices, parts of Jabavu Road, Russian Embassy, Swiss Embassy, China Embassy, Pharmacy & Poisons Board, Jabavu Lane, and adjacent customers.

Vihiga county

In Vihiga, areas affected include Vihiga Law Courts, Vihiga Police, Affordable Housing Vihiga, Vihiga High School, Emanda, Bukura, Lusiaola, Shangilia, Madira, Mulele, Induru, Kereda, BI Water, and adjacent neighbourhoods.

Kenya Power emphasised that these scheduled outages are part of routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving service reliability.

“Good evening, the following areas are scheduled for planned power maintenance tomorrow, 02.03.2026 ^LK”Kenya power noted.
