Kenya Power notifies Kiambu residents near Gachie of electricity supply disruption

The power utility in a notice issued on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, said its teams were currently carrying out repairs in the area, warning customers within the surrounding neighbourhood to expect a temporary disruption as the work continues.
“Our teams are currently carrying out repairs on the electricity network around White Cottage Primary in Gachie, Kiambu County,” Kenya Power said.
The utility explained that the interruption was necessary to facilitate the ongoing repairs and ensure the electricity network is restored to normal operation.
“As the work is ongoing, customers in the surrounding area may experience a temporary power interruption,” the company said.
Kenya Power did not provide a specific time for when electricity would be restored, instead indicating that supply would resume once the repair works had been completed.
“Power will be restored once the repairs are complete,” the utility said.
Residents and businesses in the affected area may therefore experience temporary inconveniences as Kenya Power technicians work on the network.
The company asked customers to remain patient as its teams work to address the issue and restore normal electricity supply to the affected area.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as our teams work to restore normal supply,” Kenya Power said.
The latest notice comes as electricity users continue to rely on Kenya Power’s communication channels for updates on planned and unplanned interruptions affecting different parts of the country.
Residents who experience electricity-related problems or wish to report an incident have been advised to use the utility’s available reporting channels.
“To report any power-related incidents, dial *977# or use the myPower app,” Kenya Power said.
The utility has encouraged customers to report faults through the designated channels to enable its teams to respond to electricity-related incidents.
For residents around White Cottage Primary and the surrounding parts of Gachie, the notice means electricity supply may remain unstable temporarily while repair works are underway.
It is worth noting that the utility’s latest update did not indicate that the interruption would affect all of Gachie, with the notice specifically referring to customers in the area surrounding White Cottage Primary.
