Kenya Power lists parts of 5 counties to face power outages on Tuesday, August 25
By Valerian Khakayi, August 24, 2026Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of five counties on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as the utility company carries out maintenance works.
The scheduled outages will affect parts of Migori, Homa Bay, Laikipia, Marsabit and Mombasa counties, with interruption times varying depending on the location.
Kenya Power said the interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and other works on the power network, urging affected customers to plan accordingly.
“Good evening, our esteemed customers. Kindly note that the following areas are scheduled for planned power interruptions tomorrow, 25.08.2026. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding as we carry out the necessary maintenance works,” Kenya Power announced on Monday evening, August 24,2026.
Here are areas set to be affected by the planned power blackout.
Parts of Migori County
Residents and businesses in parts of Migori County will experience a power interruption in the Taranganya and Kobinto areas.
The outage is scheduled from 8:30am to 5pm.
Affected areas include the whole of Kobinto, parts of Taranganya, Getotira, Masangora, Getonganya, Nyamotamb and adjacent customers.
Parts of Homa Bay County
In Homa Bay County, the planned interruption will affect areas around Waondo and Kitare.
The outage is scheduled from 9am to 5pm.
Areas listed include Pamela Mboya, Koyani Centre, Kitare,Kayanja,Waondo, Luanda Nyamasare and adjacent customers.
Parts of Laikipia County
In Laikipia County, customers in the Ibis Farm and Mia Moja areas will be affected.
The interruption is scheduled from 8am to 5pm.
The affected areas include: – Ibis Farm, Kirimara, Magutu, Mia Moja,Ngenia,Sirimon, GAW,Kwa Makara, Kwa Mumero, Graton,Kithithina, and adjacent customers.
Parts of Marsabit County
Kenya Power will also interrupt electricity supply in parts of Marsabit County from 8am to 4pm.
The affected areas include: Marsabit Town, Karare, Marsabit Level V Hospital, Kituruni, Sasura and adjacent customers
Parts of Mombasa County
In Mombasa County, the planned outage will affect parts of Dongokundu and Mbuta.
The interruption is scheduled from 9am to 5pm.
Affected areas include Corner Mbaya, Bububu, Dongokundu, Taifa Gas, Toa Freeport, Mwangala Primary School and Estate, Kiteje, DCC Office Dongo Kundu, Mbuta Hospital, Dr Karega and adjacent customers.
