In a remarkable achievement, twin sisters Maureen Kemunto Kerina and Michelle Mochache Kerina have both scored Grade A in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination, bringing immense pride to their family and school.

The siblings are among the top students in the just-released 2025 KCSE results, making it a moment of double joy for their family.

Maureen, who sat her exams at Alliance Girls’, scored an A with 84 points, while her twin, Michelle, of Loreto Girls’ High School, scored an A with 83 points.

Speaking during a live interview with a local media station on Friday night, January 9, 2025, Maureen said that it was a great surprise and that she had never expected to get such a perfect grade.

She added that she had been expecting an A, but not a clean sweep of all As.

“It was a great surprise, I really never expected to get such a perfect grade. I was expecting an A, but not really much of all As,” Maureen said.

On the other hand, Michelle, just like her twin, also stated that it was a surprise, but she had also been expecting an A and thanked God for it.

She added that during the holidays, she tended to be more of a night person, while her twin was a morning person, but during the day, they would sit together, do their assignments, and ask each other questions.

“It was a surprise, but I was also expecting an A and I thank God for all of it. During the holidays I was more of a night person, she was a morning person but during the day we would sit, do our assignments and ask each other questions,” Michelle stated.

The twins attended the same primary school, with Maureen scoring 417 marks in her KCPE and Michelle scoring 412 marks.
