Dorea, DJ Dibul and other celebrity couples who have stood up to online bullies
By Valerian Khakayi, November 20, 2025In this digital era, celebrity life often comes with a dark side. While fans celebrate their favourite stars, trolls frequently attack them with hurtful comments and misinformation.
However, some Kenyan celebrity couples who have been victims of online bullies have chosen to stand strong and speak out against cyberbullying.
From body-shaming comments to unfounded rumours, the couples have consistently addressed bullies directly, urging followers to focus on positivity and kindness.
Here are some of the celebrity couples who have proven that their love will not succumb to online trolls.

Dorea Chege and DJ Dibul
For the better part of the week, actress Dorea Chege and her husband, Mugithi Disc Jockey (DJ) Dickson Ndegwa Nyathore, also known as DJ Dibul, have been forced to address online trolls after domestic violence claims.
The rumours started circulating online after an anonymous netizen, in a gossip segment on blogger Edgar Obare’s Instagram account, claimed that DJ Dibul was physically assaulted by his wife.
Taking to her Instagram on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Dorea posted a light-hearted message about looking for a taekwondo trainer, subtly poking fun at the circulating claims.
“I’m looking for a taekwondo trainer. Any recommendations?” Dorea wrote playfully.

Fans quickly noticed the post, with one commenting provocatively about her supposed actions. Dorea, however, responded with a cheeky and humorous remark, dismissing the allegations altogether and making it clear that the rumours were baseless.
“Ndo upige dibul?” A fan asked. “Anapigwa kwani amefungwa mikono,” the actress fired back, dismissing the claim.
On his part, on his Instagram Stories the same day, he said that he was surprised to find himself trending over claims he insists are untrue.
“Nowadays, you get on social media and find that you are the trending topic. Have you ever found yourself trending and you are clueless about it? Anyway, Padre is okay,” he wrote.
In addition to domestic violence claims, the couple has trended several times this year over infidelity accusations involving DJ Dibul, claims that Dorea has repeatedly defended him against.

The power couple has faced online bullies due to their age difference, with Esther being older.
Guardian and Esther have often been subjected to hurtful comments and judgment from social media users. In addition, they have been constantly asked about having children, a question that has frequently sparked debates online.

Despite the scrutiny, the couple has remained strong, using their platform to address negativity and encourage respect for personal choices in relationships.
Milly Chebby and Terence Creative
Milly Chebby and Terence Creative have faced online trolls and body-shaming throughout their relationship.
Despite the hurtful comments, the couple has remained united, often speaking out about self-love and encouraging fans to embrace their bodies and ignore negativity.

Bahati and Diana Marua
Multitalented musician Kevin Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua, have also faced online bullying due to their age difference, with Diana being older.
Apart from the age difference, the couple has also been criticised for the family content they share on social media. Despite the negativity, they continue to post about their life and family, showing resilience and encouraging others to focus on love rather than judgement.
