Zakayo wa ukweli: Mosiria praises Kanyari for using mbegu ya Ksh310 to help the needy
By Valerian Khakayi, January 18, 2026Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has praised Prophet Victor Kanyari for what he described as an act of true repentance and honesty, after the controversial preacher decided to give back the money collected from Kenyans through the famous mbegu ya Ksh310.
Speaking during a church service at Kanyari‘s Salvation Healing Ministry church in Nairobi on Sunday, January 18, 2026, Mosiria said that he was impressed by the preacher’s decision to publicly acknowledge his mistakes and return the money by using it to support the needy.
He compared Kanyari’s actions to the biblical story of Zakayo, who took from people, repented, and paid back after encountering Jesus.
‘Leo Zakayo amenionyesha kazi ya Mungu is giving back; leo ndio nimeona he is giving back what he took to the community through Ksh310.”

Roasting meat in church
Mosiria recalled how he saw meat being roasted at Kanyari’s church and questioned whether the church had turned into a place for entertainment. However, his view changed after listening to Kanyari explain that he had chosen to give back instead of living in denial.
As a sign of reconciliation, Mosiria said he had decided never to insult Kanyari again, revealing that the two had forgiven each other and even shared a handshake.
“Mimi leo nimempatijia jina mpya, ule ulichukua na akarudisha na Yesu akamuokoa ni Zakayo, na kwa sababu amesema arudishe mimi leo nimesema Kanyari sitawai mtukana na tutafanya handshake anisame nami pia nimemusamehea,” he said.

Mosiria on Kanyari’s critics
In addition, he urged those criticising Kanyari online to visit his church and see for themselves the charitable activities the preacher is doing
“Watu wanamcritise wanafakuja kwa kanisa wajione,” Mosiria urged.
Despite ongoing criticism from sections of the public, Mosiria insisted that Kanyari’s decision to use the Ksh310 seed money to help the needy was a clear sign of transformation and a lesson on giving back to the community.
Fake preacher
He added that Kanyari’s actions showed what he called “true gospel,” noting that genuine faith is not about building big churches or attracting large crowds, but about honesty, repentance, and helping the community.
Mosiria also took a swipe at some pastors, accusing them of performing fake miracles and misleading worshippers, adding that Kanyari stood out because he spoke openly about reality and chose restitution.
“Let us practise true gospel, true gospel is not building a good church or having so many people.
