Vihiga police boss issues stern warning to disco matanga revellers
By Enock Amukhale, January 26, 2026Luanda sub-county police commander in Vihiga county inspector Richard Siele has banned disco matangas in the area in the efforts to fight crime.
Inspector Siele while addressing Luanda residents on Sunday 25th January 2026 warned that those who will be found holding disco matangas will be dealt with accordingly.
Luanda and some parts of Vihiga has witnessed a wave of crime where people have been killed with property stolen by the marauding criminals
Siele noted that disco matangas contributes a lot to cases of crime in the area where criminals take advantage of night discos to execute their criminal activities.
He noted that cases of business premises being broken into, homes being raided, rape and defilement cases are committed during night disco matangas.

“We have banned all manner of night disco matangas in Luanda sub-county to help fight cases of crime in our area. Many cases of crime are executed by criminals during night disco matangas. We will deal firmly and decisively with those who will defy the orders,” warned inspector Siele.
Siele has ordered Chief and police officers to confiscate the Music systems that will be found holding illegal disco matangas.
“ I want to say that the police or security agents will impound the music systems that will be found holding night disco matangas. The owners of the Music system will also be arrested and taken to court for flouting security rules and regulations,” said inspector Siele.
Siele also sounded warning to sex predators who are defiling and raping young girls in the area. Siele said he is shocked that cases of rape and defilement are happening in the communities without being reported to authority.
He shocked the public baraza when he revealed that they are dealing with a case where a father preyed on his daughter to te extend impregnating her.
He said the victim has been taken to the children’s protection centre while the culprit is being handled by law.
“ I want to urge my people of Luanda to report cases of defilement and rape to police for action to be taken against the perpetrators. Cases of rape, defilement and incest are becoming rampant in this area, “said Siele.
Luanda sub-county deputy Criminal Investigation offcicer(DCIO), Peninak Magaki asked members of the public to report cases of child abuse tom police.
She said the reported cases will be handled private and confidential.
“Let our people not to fear reporting cases of child abuse to police to deal with the perpetrators. We shall handle the cases amicably.
“If you report such a case to us we shall take the culprit to court without you as our informer or witness going physically in court. We can present you to court as a witness through virtual court proceedings,” said Inspector Magaki.
