Award-winning Nigerian singer and actress Tiwa Savage has opened up about her changing perspective on relationships, revealing that she is no longer interested in dating purely for love but instead values financial stability and a lifestyle of comfort and luxury.

Speaking candidly during an interview on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the singer said she has reached a point where emotional connection alone is not enough in a relationship.

“My type is someone who has money, I am tired of dating for love,” Savage opened up.

Savage explained that she now desires a relationship where she can be pampered and live a soft life without having to worry about financial strain or limitations.

“I want to be spoilt; I want to live a soft life. I want to be able to say, ‘Baby, I want to go to Saint Tropez. I have had a hard week. Can you send a plane?’ and he is just like, ‘Yeah, okay,'” she added.

Her remarks highlight a growing conversation around modern relationships, where financial security and lifestyle expectations are increasingly becoming part of dating conversations, especially among high-profile celebrities.

Savage on past relationships

Earlier, in January 2026, the singer opened up about her past relationships and the man she ever loved.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Korty EO, Savage revealed that she experienced only one truly fulfilling relationship, describing the bond as incredible but cut short by death.

The afrobeat star added that the man passed away, leaving her with memories she still cherishes.

“There is hardly any relationship I would look back at and see anything positive. Actually, there is one, but he passed away. May his soul rest in peace. He was incredible,” Tiwa Savage opened up.

The Nollywood actress also spoke about her struggles with love.

She explained that most of her past relationships ended badly, noting that she often played the role of a people-pleaser while neglecting her own needs.

According to her, this pattern left her disappointed and shaped her view that she has not been fortunate in love.
